The Yamaha U3 is the taller version of the popular U1 Yamaha upright. The extra height enhances the sound in the bass because it allows for longer bass strings. More than that, since the soundboard area is also greater, the tone of the piano in all registers is richer.

The U3 has been a popular choice for over 60 years. They are sought after in the used market, so they hold their value very well. The U3 (and the shorter U1) are staples of teaching studios, practice rooms and piano teachers.
