Baldwin Baby Grand Piano – Made in U.S.A. 78687

This is a world class Baldwin made in the Golden Era when there were still hundreds of American piano manufacturers and Baldwin was the cream of the crop along with Steinway and Mason & Hamlin. This piano has had gentle use all of these years. The hammers have little wear and the original, real key tops are still intact. The soundboard is clean with no signs of aging and excellent crown which produces a vibrant tone. The finish is original and while it shows some age, it looks presentable.

The Baldwin model M is a great scale design which produces a rich sound in all registers – something unusual for a baby grand. On lesser instruments the bass can be weak. Not so with this piano. It has a rich bass for a piano of its size.

The action has been regulated to play evenly and precisely. Better than that, the action is quiet. Some older pianos which have been subjected to harsh environments have dried out felt and leather parts that create an imprecise feel and noisy execution. It’s a pleasure to play on a classic American piano that has been well cared for.
