The case has been refinished in the classic ebony sprayed lacquer, hand-rubbed finish. The plate has been re-gilded and the metal parts have been re-plated. The pedal trap-work has also been rebuilt. This piano has had very moderate use. The action has been refined with gentle hammer re-shaping, regulation and fine voicing.

The model M Steinway is vastly more popular than the smaller model S because it has a much more satisfying bass register. Yet, this piano can fit almost anywhere a baby grand can fit. That is one of the reasons these instruments are highly sought after.
