Bluthner has been hand-crafting pianos in Germany since the mid 1800’s and is still run by the original Bluthner family. If you have never heard a Bluthner piano, it is an experience you are likely to remember. It’s sound has been described as having the, “Golden Tone”. While some other German pianos have the clarity and focus found in Bluthner pianos, there is a warmth and fatness to the tone of Bluthner that is unique.

This piano has been rebuilt and restored to play on a high level. There are superficial blemishes such as hairline cracks in the real (not plastic) keytops. The artistry of the case is something to behold. From the exotic wood cabinet, to the finely crafted soundboard and action, the greatest care in selection of materials and attention to details of manufacturing are evident in all aspects of sound, touch, and presentation of this instrument.

This piano incorporates Aliquot Stringing technology which is only offered on Bluthner pianos. Unlike regular pianos which have only 3 strings for each note in the treble, this piano has 4 strings for each note in the treble register which enhances the tone and sustain of the notes even though the 4th string is not directly struck by the hammers. Instead, they sympathetically vibrate creating a sound that envelopes the listener.

If you appreciate the greatest European pianos, and the type of German craftsmanship from a bygone era, you can treasure this piano for years to come.
