Most baby grands suffer from thin sound in the bass due to the shorter strings and smaller soundboard area. But Mason & Hamlin has design elements that provide a sound that isn’t available on other pianos of its size. The soundboard area is larger than in other pianos of equal size due to the wide tail. The Tension Resonator System enhances the strength of the structure which is already incredibly strong. This not only increases the lifespan of the soundboard, but also creates a full rich tone that belies the size of the piano.
