Rare Steinway Art-Case Rebuilt by Steinway

This is a New York made Steinway with furniture design inspired by Hepplewhite. This marvelous case design was only made during the 1930’s and then again for a short time in the 1980’s. Very few ever resurface from this era, simply because not many were made. This one was sent back to the Steinway factory by the original family for complete restoration in the 1990’s and has remained in the family until now. It still has the original, real keys. The piano exhibits a big, lush bass with beautiful bell like treble tones.
