The Artist Series Model L Baldwin is one of the great American pianos of all time. Living Pianos has the distinction of having sold more Baldwin model L grand pianos than any other piano. On a personal note, Baldwin Model L’s have been my personal pianos more than any other instrument!

Baldwin stopped producing pianos about 10 years after this piano was made. There was a decline in quality after their bankruptcy in the early 2000’s. So this piano was made when Baldwin was still a hand-built piano of the highest quality. Today, the Baldwin name is used on pianos from China that are simply Asian production pianos utilizing the venerable Baldwin name.

WHAT ARE STENCIL PIANOS?

The Artist Series Model L has a big sound, suitable for a large room. We have placed model L Baldwins in smaller performance venues as well as recording studios. They have a rare combination of warmth and clarity of sound. They work equally well in a wide range of musical styles.

While this piano was well cared for, it took countless hours of critical work to bring it to the highest level of performance. The action is medium weight and lightning fast.
