The history of Grotrian-Steinweg is inextricably linked to the birth of the modern piano. In the mid-1800s, Friedrich Grotrian joined forces with Theodor Steinweg (son of Heinrich Steinweg) to manufacture instruments of unparalleled quality. While Heinrich eventually moved to New York to become “Henry Steinway,” the Grotrian family continued the tradition of excellence in Germany. Today, both names represent the pinnacle of piano manufacturing, with Grotrian-Steinweg remaining one of the few truly world-class German-made instruments.

This 6′ 7″ Model 200 is an extraordinary example of European cabinet making. Finished in a gorgeous Rosewood Polish, the natural wood grain is nothing short of breathtaking. Refinished Soundboard: The soundboard has been meticulously refinished. It retains an excellent crown with a solid connection to all the ribs, preserving the “heart and soul” that gives this instrument its legendary resonance.
