This is a New York Steinway that is all original and in magnificent condition. This piano was made after the time Steinway utilized Teflon in their actions. The action shows very little wear. There are no signs of the environment inside the piano. The finish is also in great shape! But it’s the sound of this piano that sets it apart from other Steinway B’s.

When trying out new Steinway pianos, each one offers unique sonic characteristics. Every once in a while, you will encounter a piano that has a longer tone life, particularly in the treble. At the time this piano was manufactured, Steinway was getting ready to renovate their action production facility in their New York factory. So, they utilized some Hamburg Steinway parts. This piano has Hamburg Steinway whippens (repetitions) as well as Hamburg shanks. The hammers are New York Steinway.
