The model M Steinway is one of Steinway’s most popular model pianos. It is large enough to offer a rich sound throughout all registers, yet can be placed almost anywhere a baby grand can fit. This piano was just rebuilt with new Mapes Gold International piano strings (the same type used on new Steinway pianos). It has new key bushings and front rail bushings and the action has been regulated to concert level performance. The case has also been refinished with the traditional hand-rubbed, sprayed lacquer. The plate has been re-gilded and all the metal parts have been replated.

The piano has a dead quiet action that responds to every nuance of touch. The tone is clear, yet warm with excellent sustain well into the high register. The action is responsive without excessive action weight the way you sometimes find with some Steinway pianos.
