The Little Shepherd of Debussy, is the second to last movement of his Children’s Corner Suite. It is a poetic gem. This piece has a very special meaning for me for a number of reasons. When I learned the complete Children’s Corner Suite, it represented a milestone for me at the time. Although my hands were very small and weak, I was able to bring great expression to the sophisticated music.

This movement in particular has always had a special place in my heart. In fact, I often dedicated this piece to my mother as an encore in numerous concert performances.

  1. Hello Robert,
    Beautifully played.
Claudio Arrau described Debussy as a “thoughtful genius”
One of my favorite pieces “The Snow is Dancing” is a perfect evocation.
Michelangeli in 1962 at the height of his powers is perfection.
    Best wishes, David.
