Baldwin Vintage Grand Piano

Here is a Baldwin grand piano from the Golden Era of American piano building. The piano has been restored with new strings, tuning pins and damper felts.. The piano action has been rebuilt with new hammers, shanks, knuckles, backchecks, whippens (repetitions), front rail bushings, and key bushings. The piano was refinished and has just been refreshed!

The tone of Baldwin pianos from this era have a warm, round sound. What separates this piano from so many other vintage Steinway, Baldwin and Mason & Hamlin pianos, aside from the first-class restoration, is the original soundboard which produces such a sustained, pure sound, which is rare in any piano.

The model C is essentially the same as the model L, with some nice additions, such as tunable aliquots. They are tuned when the piano is restrung, so they don’t require any extra maintenance. However, they provide a richer tone as an element of duplex scaling. The non-speaking length of the strings (the part the hammers don’t hit) sympathetically vibrate at musically relevant pitches which enhances the tone.

You will find the action is very fluid and responsive since the parts are new, and the regulation is to a concert level of performance. This is an all around great piano representing the best of American instruments from this period.
