Charles Walter pianos are one of the last American piano companies. Many people regard their uprights as unparalleled in quality of parts and manufacturing. There are many things that set Charles Walter pianos apart.
The model 1500 is the American standard in studio pianos. With massive back posts supporting the frame, and 29 ply delignit pinblock, these pianos are incredibly stable, and endure the ages better than almost any other upright pianos on the market.
The playing experience is unlike other upright pianos. The individually lead-weighted keys are longer than on other upright pianos. So there is an evenness in touch from the front to the back of the keys like you experience on grand pianos. The tone is incredibly rich due to the expertly crowned soundboard, as well as longer string length in the bass section of the piano offering the richness of sound found in larger pianos. There is also more soundboard area providing the timbre of a larger piano.
The piano has all solid brass fixtures, and a massive 1 3/4″ butcherblock keybed construction and select hardwoods throughout the piano. These pianos are built to last. This instrument has had incredibly gentle use and should provide decades of service for the most discriminating pianist.
