In the Golden Era of piano manufacturing when there were over 1800 companies making pianos in the United States at the peak, Kurtzmann was one of the most respected piano builders in the country. Another New York company, like Steinway, Kurtzmann made pianos with similar methodology.

This piano was rebuilt some years ago and the soundboard was reworked, new strings, pins, action parts, refinishing and other work put the piano in good condition. It has recently been regulated, voiced, tuned and refined to play on a high level. The piano while not absolutely brand new looking, has a very good appearance as well.
