Baldwin Model R Grand Piano 16786

This is the Artist Series Grand Piano of Baldwin. This piano was rebuilt in the 1980’s and has been recently refinished and has new key tops. The rebuilding included:

• Strings
• Pins
• Pin block
• Damper felt
• Hammers
• Shanks
• Knuckles
• Whippens

The soundboard is in great shape and produces a warm, powerful tone throughout all registers. The action is precise and regulated to a very high level. This is a top level piano for a serious player. Since the parts are relatively new, it would be a good choice for a teacher, performing venue or recording studio since the piano has plenty of life in it and should be relatively stable since the rebuilding wasn’t just completed.

Baldwin was the top competition to Steinway in the 20th century. When playing an instrument like this, you can understand why Baldwin pianos were the top choice of so many concert artists.
