Baldwin owed the great German piano company Bechstein at this time and this piano was jointly designed by Baldwin and Bechstein. Baldwin suffered a slow decline in quality in the decades after this piano was built leading to their eventual bankruptcy. This period of production for Baldwin produced some of the greatest American pianos made in the post WWII era. This one is a particular gem with a clear, warm sustained tone.
