Steinway Walnut Grand Piano Model XR 216405

This is a Steinway grand piano from the Golden Era of American piano building. The model XR has the same scale design as the model M. Many pianos from early in the 20th century featured Duo-Art player systems which could reproduce musical performances expressively from paper rolls. This piano originally had this technology but it has been removed. However, a modern player system could be installed if desired.

The good news is the condition of this instrument! The soundboard looks and sounds magnificent. The action is responsive with no corrosion or worn out parts. The piano has been beautifully maintained over the years and has just had full regulation and fine voicing. The tuning is very stable as well. The strings produce a vibrant tone. The XR features key length typically found in much larger pianos, so the feel is substantial although the action weight is medium.

The finish and design of the piano has a classic look and is in very good condition. This piano represents phenomenal value for a Steinway in this condition.
