Romance in Music

Piano Lessons / general / Romance in Music

This is a great subject. You may be thinking about Romantic music, but this is an entirely different thing. This refers to the period style of late 19th century music rich with emotion. While much Romantic period music has romance to it, this aesthetic is not limited to any particular period style.

Fortunately we have the perfect example for you: Carmen, the vixen from the classic Opera by Georges Bizet. And here is my wife Florence to play the haunting seduction, the Habanero from the opera Carmen. I think you will understand instantly how music can convey romance – enjoy!

  2. Dear Robert,

Lisa and I would like to thank you for your wonderful videos you provide to us! We are still in Chile and hoping to be in Guatemala in May! Once there we WILL buy a piano from you! Your wife is truly gifted and we enjoyed hearing her play.
Once we are in Guatemala, we will invite you both to come and stay with us. We will be in Antigua, Guatemala and you will love it! Never above 78 degrees or below 56 degrees! It is called the land of eternal Spring and is very inviting.

We wish you both a very Happy Valentine’s Day and look forward to purchasing a piano once we are settled in.

    Kind regards,

    David & Lisa
